PHOTOPEAKS WEBSITE

Website privacy

Updated October 26, 2026

We count anonymous browsers visiting the website each day to understand how useful it is. Website activity is counted separately from activity in the app.

What we record

Your browser saves a random identifier in localStorage on your device. The website sends only this identifier to an endpoint on the same origin. The server converts it to a keyed HMAC digest and records the date, digest and time it was first received. The original random identifier is not stored in the server database.

These analytics do not record photos, page content, URL parameters, precise location, raw browser information or browser fingerprints. IP addresses are used only for short-term rate limiting by Cloudflare and are not written to the website analytics database. As our hosting provider, Cloudflare processes the network information needed to handle requests.

Counting and retention

An anonymous browser is counted once per calendar day in Beijing time (UTC+8). A person using another device or browser, or returning after clearing local data, may count as a different browser. To limit resource use, the website records at most 1,000 newly active browsers per day. If this limit is reached, the report is marked incomplete and the website remains available. Records are kept for the most recent 90 calendar days in Beijing time; a scheduled task removes older records. Analytics are shown only in our existing protected internal dashboard.

Your choices

The website respects Do Not Track (DNT) and Global Privacy Control (GPC) signals. Your browser is also excluded if JavaScript is disabled, local storage is unavailable, or you opt out below. Opting out clears the website analytics identifier from this device.
